The United Board works with a dynamic network of universities and colleges to enhance Christian presence in higher education in Asia. We share expertise in educational capacity-building and promote leadership, collaboration and humanistic values. Our programs are led by partner institutions in Asia, and from inception to execution, they are driven by the needs and knowledge of the region.

Our leadership and faculty development programs - Asian University Leaders ProgramUnited Board Fellows ProgramUnited Board Scholars Program and Institute for Advanced Study in Asian Cultures and Theologies - help young and rising faculty members and administrators turn their aspirations into concrete plans, through study for advanced degrees, short-term fellowships, skills-building seminars and networking.  When program participants return to their own colleges and universities, they are ready to transform individual experiences into institutional strengths to benefit generations of students.

Our grant program currently centers around initiatives in Environment and HealthInterreligious Understanding and Peace Education and Asian Folklore and Cultural Heritage Studies.  These are broad themes that reflect key issues for Asia and build on the existing strengths of the United Board.  In designing these initiatives, we have consulted with our partners, who have advised us on needs, available expertise and means for collaboration.

The United Board also has worked with partner institutions in the American Schools and Hospitals Abroad program of the U.S. Agency for International Development.
