Dr. Rosie Bateson serves as the Dean of Faculty and Academic Affairs at the Asian University for Women (AUW) in Chittagong, Bangladesh. AUW provides American-style liberal arts education to promising young women from diverse cultural, religious, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds from across Asia and the Middle East. Dr. Bateson is responsible for leading the institution through its next phase of academic development and US accreditation; recruiting and retaining AUW’s exceptional international faculty, and developing the university’s culture, environment, and campus.
Dr. Bateson was formerly the founding Strategy and Operations Lead & Vice-Rector for Strategy, Development, and University Governance at Sampoerna University in Jakarta, Indonesia. She has held numerous academic and senior leadership positions across the world, including Professor of Higher Education Management & Pro Vice-Chancellor of Student Experience at the University of Abertay Dundee, UK and Vice President for Student Services at the Central European University in Budapest, Hungary. She holds a PhD in Higher Education Management from the University of Southampton in the United Kingdom.
