Consultant, Program Assistant

The United Board for Christian Higher Education in Asia seeks to fill the position of Program Assistant for its Consultancy office in Chennai, India. The position is responsible for managing office operations and providing support for program initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage day-to-day operations of the Chennai office.
  • Oversee all financial activities, including budget development, expense monitoring, adherence to financial policies, and preparation of accounting and financial reports.
  • Manage facilities and services such as office lease management, procurement, maintenance of fixed assets, renovations, access control, network and telecommunications, mailing and receiving, cleaning services, inventory control, office supplies, stationery, and souvenirs.
  • Help maintain and foster relationships with Women’s Christian College, where the Chennai consultancy office is located.
  • Document personnel records and manage leave records.
  • Coordinate office logistics, including meetings, travel arrangements, and events.
  • Provide administrative support for grants and program management.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field related to financial management and office management (a master’s degree is advantageous).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in related work.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Ability to navigate and work respectfully across cultures and work effectively in a consultative manner within the United Board.
  • Capacity to work independently and collaboratively within a team, fostering a cooperative and supportive work environment.
  • Occasional travel within India and overseas is required.

Compensation and Application Process:

Salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience.
