An Opportunity to Join Our Team – Consultant, Program Officer for Social Impact Programming and Assessment (based in Chennai, India)

The Consultant, Program Officer for Social Impact Programming (SIP) and Assessment works in consultation with and reports to the Director for Leadership Development and Social Impact Programming, and operationally to the Consultant, Director for South Asia Programs.

Key Responsibilities:

Social Impact Programming

  • Identify the needs and good practices of colleges and universities in the area of campus-community partnerships or SIP such as service-learning and community-based student research projects, peace education, community service, and social entrepreneurship.
  • Recommend and implement suitable programs to address the needs related to SIP.
  • Build the Social Entrepreneurship program, initiate and maintain strong partnerships with the United Board’s networks and other organizations working in the field of social entrepreneurship in collaboration with program officer overseeing partnerships.
  • Facilitate the sharing of good practices (or practices that work) related to SIP
  • Collaborate with the Faculty Development team on embedding SIP in faculty training.
  • Stay updated on the latest trends, research, and best practices in SIP.

Assessment

  • Conduct comprehensive research on educational trends, policies, and best practices in Asia upon request.
  • Search, review and analyse relevant information to inform decision-making.
  • Design surveys, collect and analyze qualitative and quantitative data to provide insights to support senior management in assessment and decision-making.
  • Use statistical software, and prepare detailed reports and presentations.

Program Support

  • Collaborate closely with senior management and team members on United Board programs as needed.
  • Other duties or tasks that may be assigned by the supervising Director and/or the President of United Board.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in a relevant academic field related to data analysis, with a minimum of 5 years of relevant research and work experience.
  • Strong research and data analytical skills, including the ability to collect, analyze, and interpret data effectively.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously, while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to navigate and work respectfully across cultures, work effectively in a consultative manner within the United Board and with the diverse program and institutional collaborators, and help establish and strengthen effective partnerships.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team, fostering a cooperative and supportive work environment.
