Small grants (up to US$5,000) enable innovative educators in our network to launch small-scale, start-up activities and pedagogical experiments to enhance whole person education in their institutions. The themes or topics of these projects are open. Grants are awarded to higher education institutions; proposals from individuals are not accepted.
(July 27, 2020)
The United Board is undertaking a comprehensive review of our grantmaking, in order to explore how our grants can best support Asian colleges and universities in their commitment to whole person education. This means that we will not be accepting applications for new Project Grants or Bamboo Grants for the 2021-2022 year, although we will move forward with the second and third years of support for previously approved multi-year grants. A few additional grants may also be made at the United Board’s discretion.
We also plan to initiate a program of Centennial Projects and Grants intended to build on past work in new and innovative ways. These projects and grants will focus on our existing program interests, including leadership and faculty development, promoting a culture of care on campus, and innovation in education including digital learning. Further information about these initiatives will be forthcoming.
We look forward to sharing further information about our grantmaking in due course, along with additional plans for the United Board Centennial. Thank you for your interest in our work.
