Proficiency in English expands professional opportunities for Asian faculty: it enhances their ability to participate in international conferences and workshops, network with peers in other countries, access information in academic journals or online media, share their own research findings. The United Board’s Intensive English Language Program, administered by the Ateneo Language Learning Center at the Ateneo de Manila University, Philippines, helps participants improve their English language proficiency in academic and professional settings, and become more confident in English listening, speaking, writing, and reading.
Nine faculty members from six countries completed the seven-week program in March. The application process for the 2016-2017 program will open later this year.
