Local Knowledge

1 time use.Asian culture.Thai dancersThe United Board provides grant support for Local Knowledge projects that nurture students’ awareness of and respect for cultures of their own and other communities. Our goal is to move beyond academic research to the design and use of new curricula that teachers of the humanities can introduce into their courses. Students, in turn, deepen their engagement in disciplines such as history, anthropology, religion, linguistics, and music, among others, as they encounter Asia’s rich cultural heritage.
