Founded in 2004, the United Board’s Institute for Advanced Study of Asian Cultures and Theologies (IASACT) gives a small group of Asian scholars the opportunity to devote a month to research, reflection, and writing. The guidance of mentors and the exchange of ideas with other scholars help IASACT participants refine their ideas and make progress on their academic writing projects. QUEST, a recently launched online journal, publishes some of the articles scholars have worked on during their IASACT program, as well as the contributions of other scholars of Asian cultures and theologies. QUEST is a peer-reviewed journal published by the Divinity School of Chung Chi College, which also administers IASACT on behalf of the United Board.
The inaugural issue includes the contributions of seven alumni of IASACT 2015. To access the issue, please click here.
QUEST takes its name from the print journal the United Board published from 2003 to 2007, which also sought to share the research and ideas of Asian scholars with a broader community. QUEST welcomes the submission of articles and book reviews that span the full spectrum of religious, cultural, theological, and interdisciplinary studies on the cultures and religions in Asia. Guidelines for submissions can be found here.
The United Board expresses its appreciation to the Divinity School of Chung Chi College for its management of IASACT and QUEST.
