Sharing Experience in Service-Learning

The 6th Asia-Pacific Regional Conference on Service-Learning, held May 28 – June 2, 2017 in Surabaya, Indonesia, was a forum for educators from 30 colleges and universities to present their experience in integrating service-learning into the pedagogy of their institutions. The recent publication of 30 papers from the conference creates an opportunity for others to share in the learning.

The published proceedings include a paper on “Growing Together: Advancing Networks for Service-Learning Actors in Asia” by United Board Vice President for Programs Wai Ching Wong, which details the United Board’s history of engagement with service-learning and highlights some recent United Board-supported projects.  Also included are examples of service-learning in United Board network institutions, such as Dagon University in Myanmar, Seoul Women’s University in Korea, and Petra Christian University in Indonesia.
