Our Resource Development program helps United Board network institutions develop the human and financial resources needed to be self-sustaining, high-quality institutions. The United Board actively promotes to its network institutions the critical function of development, which encompasses fundraising, alumni relations, marketing, and communications. Through dedicated workshops on development, seminars, grants, and one-on-one coaching, the United Board development staff and external practitioners engage senior leaders and newly established development staff of various institutions to expand their development capacity for resource generation.

These efforts help colleges and universities design strategies to secure sustainable resources for core programs and new initiatives – an important action for many higher education institutions, as they increasingly rely upon private, self-generated sources of support.
