Dr. Jun Pan works as associate professor and (incoming) associate head of the Department of Translation, Interpreting and Intercultural Studies at Hong Kong Baptist University. She obtained her MA degree from Shanghai International Studies University and her PhD from City University of Hong Kong. Working as a professional interpreter, she has been teaching and researching interpreting and translation for many years. Her work includes the Chinese/English Political Interpreting Corpus, a nearly-6.5-million-word online corpus. She serves roles including co-editor of Bandung: Journal of the Global South, and review editor of The Interpreter and Translator Trainer. She is vice president (internal) cum honorary secretary of the Hong Kong Translation Society, chair of international relations of the Hong Kong Association of University Women, and (founding) executive committee member of University Women Asia (under Graduate Women International). She looks forward to learning from other members of the Program. She is also a poet.
