The United Board for Christian Higher Education in Asia is pleased to announce the appointment of Fredrick Vasanth Pandian as its next Vice President for Finance and Administration, effective 20 January 2025.

Fredrick brings over 11 years of extensive executive experience in nonprofit financial leadership, strategic planning, and administrative operations. He has demonstrated a strong commitment to advancing organizational missions through sound fiscal management and innovative approaches. Most recently, Fredrick served as Chief Financial and Administrative Officer at Ballet Hispánico, where he oversaw key functions including finance, human resources, payroll, and administration. His leadership extended to managing the endowment, and compliance with regulatory requirements.

In addition to his role at Ballet Hispánico, Fredrick has served as a strategic consultant and founder of Pandian Global, providing financial guidance to organizations during transitions and implementing technology-driven solutions. His broad expertise in nonprofit management, coupled with his passion for education and youth development, aligns closely with the mission of the United Board.

Fredrick has personally experienced the far-reaching impact of education. Raised in Arakkonam, a town near Chennai, India, he immigrated to the United States at the age of 14. He later earned a degree with double majors in accounting and economics from CUNY Queens College in New York. From 2006 to 2013, he worked as the Controller and IT Manager at Publicolor, a youth development nonprofit dedicated to empowering marginalized youth with access to college and scholarship opportunities.

Fredrick said, “Joining the United Board as Vice President for Finance and Administration is not just an honor—it’s an incredible opportunity to contribute to something bigger than myself. Having witnessed firsthand how education can transform lives, I am inspired to give back by helping institutions across Asia continue to shape futures and strengthen communities. The United Board’s mission to advance whole person education is already creating a better tomorrow, and I am deeply committed to supporting this important work alongside a talented team and dedicated partners.”

As Vice President for Finance and Administration, Fredrick will oversee the United Board’s financial management, investments, accounting, and administrative operations across its offices in New York, Hong Kong, and Chennai, as well as fostering organizational efficiency by streamlining administrative policies and leveraging technology to optimize operations. He will also provide executive support to its committees including Audit, Compensation, Finance and Administration, and Investment.

We are confident that Fredrick’s leadership will strengthen our financial stewardship and operational excellence as we continue to serve our partner institutions in higher education across Asia. Please join us in welcoming Fredrick Vasanth Pandian to the United Board community.
