AI Governance for Higher Education Institutions in Asia

- Strengthen leadership capacity in AI ethics, governance, and regulatory compliance
- Develop institutional frameworks for responsible and transparent AI use
- Build actionable governance policies and implementation roadmaps
- Foster inter-institutional collaboration and sharing of best practices across Asia
Workshop Format
The workshop consists of five 90 minutes virtual sessions from January to May 2026, followed by a June follow-up session and optional mentorship.
Orientation: 8 January 2026
Session 1: 14 January 2026 – Setting the Stage: Institutional AI Governance Needs
Session 2: 4 February 2026 – Ethical AI Use, Bias & Institutional Integrity
Session 3: 4 March 2026 – Policy, Regulations & Compliance Strategies
Session 4: 1 April 2026 – Governance Structures & Implementation Models
Session 5: 7 May 2026 – Action Plan Showcase & Peer Review

- Interactive group learning with real-world case studies
- Project-centered development of institutional governance frameworks
- Access to policy templates, case libraries, and ethical guidelines
- Peer review and personalized feedback
- Networking opportunities with leaders in AI governance across Asia
Participation & Eligibility
- Limited to 60 participants only
- Each institution may nominate 2-3 representatives to form a team
- Open to university leaders, IT officers, policymakers, and digital transformation managers from accredited institutions
- Preference given to institutions currently implementing or planning AI-related initiatives that require governance oversight

Applicants must submit:
- A completed online application form
- A letter of institutional endorsement
- CVs of all participating team members
(Institutions are encouraged to apply as a group to strengthen internal capacity for AI governance.)
Expected Outcomes
By the end of the program, participants will:
- Develop and Institutional AI Governance Action Plan
- Strengthen institutional capacity for AI policy formulation
- Gain access to governance templates and ethical guidelines
- Join a regional peer network for continued collaboration
