Based in the Chiang Mai office, Dr. Christopher Butler leads the United Board's communications strategy, including publications, digital platforms, and brand stewardship. He works with colleagues across the Hong Kong, New York, Chennai, and Chiang Mai offices to share the story of whole person education across our network in Asia.

Christopher brings more than two decades of experience that combines international and strategic communications with a career in academia. He has led communications and publications for international research and development organizations across Asia, Central Asia, Europe, and Latin America. This includes his role as Deputy Director of Communications and managing editor at the International Potato Center (CGIAR). Most recently he served as Senior Technical Director on a U. S. Department of State program in Ukraine.

Christopher taught sociology and English for 12 years at the University of Minnesota, Morris. He holds a PhD in Sociology from the University of California, Santa Cruz, and an MA in American Studies from the University of Notre Dame.
