Maher Spurgeon, PhD
Consultant, Director for South Asia
Maher Spurgeon has worked with the United Board as a regional program consultant for the South Asia region since 2015. In this role, he works with colleges and universities of South Asia to promote whole person education by visiting, coaching and guiding them, and enabling them to apply for grants from the United Board. Before joining the United Board, he worked as an associate professor of philosophy and the chaplain of Madras Christian College for more than 20 years. He has an MA in economics and an MA in philosophy and religion from Madurai Kamaraj University; MTh in pastoral theology from the University of Wales, UK; and MPhil and PhD from the University of Madras.
