An Opportunity to Join Our Team – Office Manager (Chiang Mai, Thailand)

Office Location: Chiang Mai, Thailand
Reports to: Director of Human Resources and Administration (Hong Kong)

As part of the founding team of the Chiang Mai office, the Office Manager will play a pivotal role in establishing operations, ensuring smooth daily management, and coordinating logistics for United Board activities in Thailand and the wider Asia region. The Office Manager works closely with colleagues across United Board offices to ensure efficient operations.

Responsibilities: 

  • Maintain a strong and open working relationship with the Director of Human Resources and Administration, collaborating with colleagues in Chiang Mai office and across United Board offices to ensure efficiency and alignment with organizational goals.
  • Oversee logistics and preparations for board meetings and regional activities in Chiang Mai and Asia.
  • Manage office administration and travel arrangements for leadership and staff.
  • Handle all personnel matters, including recruiting new staff, applying and renewing employment and dependent visas, processing payroll, maintaining a personnel record, and onboarding new employees, etc.
  • Manage office finance and budget, including expense tracking and coordination with other offices on financial reporting.
  • Supervise and delegate work to the assistant(s) and part-time staff.
  • Ensure compliance with local regulatory requirements, including submission of annual reports to relevant authorities.
  • Carry out other duties as assigned by the Director of Human Resources and Administration and senior management.

 

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, advanced degree preferred. 
  • Minimum 5 years of administrative, office management and human resources management experience, ideally within international or nonprofit organizations.
  • Basic bookkeeping or accounting skills to support office financial processes.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, in English; proficiency in Thai is a must.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment, with close attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, and external stakeholders.
  • Initiative to work independently and lead the establishment of a new office.
  • Willingness to travel within Thailand and Asia as needed.
  • Commitment to the United Board’s mission and values.
