Program Officer
The United Board for Christian Higher Education in Asia seeks to fill the position of Program Officer based in either the United Board’s Chennai, India or the Hong Kong office. The position reports to the Program Director of Leadership Development and assists him/her in the management of all leadership development programs.
Key Responsibilities:
- To support the Program Director of Leadership Development on grants management, leadership development, and training for university faculty, staff, and administrators.
- To maintain ongoing contacts with academic administrators, participating institutions, and project coordinators in different regions.
- To evaluate and recommend funding for proposed projects, interview and recommend faculty for fellowship/ scholarships, evaluate current projects, in coordination with Program Director.
- Prepare reports, and process grant payments.
- To collate statistics and program data for preparing program reports and analysis.
- To support the general work of the United Board as required.
Qualifications and Experience:
- A master’s degree with a minimum of 8 years of relevant work experience in managing programs independently, especially in the higher education sector.
- A good command of written and spoken English
- Good communication, interpersonal and organizational skills and the ability to work as an effective team member.
- Service-oriented with attention to detail; high sensitivity to cultural nuances.
- Proficient in MS Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Knowledge of budget management and experience in event management.
- Candidates with fewer years of experience will be considered for the position of Assistant Program Officer.
Compensation and Application Process:
