Announcement

The United Board for Christian Higher Education in Asia is pleased to announce the generous support of The Freeman Foundation for the 2024-2025 United Board Fellows Program, fully supporting four United Board Freeman Fellows. They are:

  • Dr. Christine Joy A. Ballada from De La Salle University, Philippines
  • Dr. Patchara Boonteerarak from Payap University, Thailand
  • Dr. Robby Yussac Tallar from Maranatha Christian University, Indonesia
  • Dr. Hang Thi-Thu Truong from University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam

These four Fellows, together with 21 others selected from a strong applicant pool of over 60 nominations from 12 countries and regions in Asia, have just completed an intensive week-long summer institute at Singapore Management University. The remainder of the program includes an Asia placement or study trip and a final capstone seminar in a major Asian city.

Dr. Pareena Gupta Lawrence, President of the United Board, expressed her gratitude, stating, "We are deeply thankful to The Freeman Foundation for their continued partnership and support. This grant will enable our Fellows to acquire important leadership skills and perspective and build a professional network, which will help them to facilitate positive change and innovation at their home institutions."

Mr. Graeme Freeman, President of The Freeman Foundation, also shared his enthusiasm for the collaboration, saying, "The Freeman Foundation is proud to support the United Board Fellows Program as we have for many years. We believe in the transformative power of education and leadership development, and we are excited to see the impact these Fellows will make in their communities and institutions in Asia."

The United Board Fellows Program, established in 2002, aims to nurture dynamic emerging leaders committed to advancing whole person education and fostering excellence in academic institutions across Asia. From the beginning, it has received generous support from The Freeman Foundation, a private foundation established in 1993, which focuses on developing a greater appreciation between the US and East Asia through educational collaborations and other humanitarian projects.
