Now Hiring: Education Technology Assistant (Chiang Mai, Thailand)

The United Board for Christian Higher Education in Asia seeks a motivated Education Technology Assistant to join its office in Chiang Mai, Thailand. This is a full-time fixed-term position established to support the United Board’s educational technology initiatives, programs, and internal technology operations. The assistant will provide technical support, help staff use technology and artificial intelligence effectively, manage digital systems and databases, support programs organized by the Digital Programming team, and contribute to new technology initiatives that support the United Board’s work across Asia.

Key Responsibilities

  • Working closely with the Educational Technology Officer, the Education Technology Assistant will:
    • Support the implementation of educational technology, artificial intelligence, and other digital initiatives of the United Board.
    • Provide technical support for programs and activities organized by the Digital Programming team and other United Board teams, including support for digital platforms, online tools, AI applications, and other technology needs.
    • Support the administrative operations of United Board educational technology programs and grants, including processing program and grant reimbursements and assisting with program-related communications.
    • Assist the Education Technology Officer and other United Board staff members across four offices in Asia in the effective use of technology and provide practical support in addressing technology-related needs and challenges.
    • Work closely with program teams to understand operational needs and provide appropriate technology and administrative support for program implementation and monitoring.
    • Manage and maintain the United Board’s existing database systems, including updating and organizing records, ensuring data integrity and quality, providing user support and training to staff members, and assisting with reporting and other database-related needs.
    • Support the planning, development, testing, and maintenance of future digital systems and platforms, including the proposed United Board integrated application and program management portal.
    • Assist in using AI-assisted development tools to develop and enhance digital solutions, and apply basic technical knowledge to review, test, troubleshoot, and assess the reliability of systems developed through these tools.
    • Assist with maintaining and updating the United Board website and other digital platforms.
    • Explore and support the use of technology, automation, and emerging digital tools to improve program delivery, organizational workflows, and operational efficiency.
  • Provide responsive and practical technology-related support for the United Board’s programs and internal operations.
  • Support the general work of the United Board as required and undertake special projects and other related tasks as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Educational Technology, Digital Technology, or a related field.
  • A minimum of two years of relevant work experience
  • A good command of written and spoken English.
  • Good knowledge of technology, artificial intelligence, digital platforms, databases, and emerging digital technologies.
  • Familiarity with generative AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, and other relevant AI applications.
  • Basic knowledge of programming, web applications, databases, and software development, with the ability to test and troubleshoot AI-assisted digital systems.
  • Familiarity with programming languages, web hosting, website management, workflow automation, or related technologies is desirable.
  • Experience using Salesforce, SurveyMonkey Apply, or similar database, application management, and reporting systems would be an asset.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, willingness to learn, and a proactive can-do attitude.
  • Service-oriented and committed to providing technology support to the United Board staff members, ensuring timely and effective resolution of technology-related needs.
  • Strong attention to detail, with demonstrated ability to maintain accurate records, manage databases, review information carefully, and ensure the integrity, quality, and consistency of data.

Compensation and Application Process

Compensation is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience.
