Being peace and cultivating skills for peace are integral to being whole person educators. This session examined two ancient wise educators who taught peace in contexts of political and religious turmoil. It aimed to inspire educators to cultivate themselves as peace and inspirers of peace.
It focused on two skill sets for self-cultivation:
(a) improving self through life-long learning from Confucius; and
(b) becoming virtuous, skillful, and prudent in dialogue for solving problems, from Gotama the Buddha.
Participants were expected to reflect these skill sets on their own experience and come up with their personal plan for self-improvement.
